Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has sought intervention of the governor of Nagaland for timely completion of Kohima-Jessami road (Package 2) with proper machinery and quality workmanship.
In a representation to Governor La Ganesan, CSU president Pfhülo Sara and general secretary Kuzoto Swuro pointed out that the union submitted a representation to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, highlighting concerns regarding delays, lack of proper machinery, and substandard workmanship affecting the project.
CSU stated that this vital road infrastructure holds immense significance for the people of the region, ensuring better connectivity, economic growth, and overall development. However, CSU said that the ongoing delay and the reported quality issues have caused immense hardships to commuters and residents alike.
Therefore, CSU urged governor to take up the issue with the Centre to ensure the timely completion of the project without further delays. CSU also demanded that directives be issued to the concerned authorities to provide adequate equipment to facilitate smooth and efficient construction. It further demanded strict monitoring of the project to uphold the highest standards of construction quality and safety.
