All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has reminded the minister for higher education of its earlier appeal to engage with the Central Ministry of Tribal Affairs for the early release and disbursement of the pending second instalment (remaining 25%) of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) ST for the year 2023-2024.

In a letter to minister for higher education, ANCSU president Tenyesinlo Bukh and general secretary Kivinoka A Sema expressed dismay that there was no positive development even after lapse of more than 90 days.

It strongly expressed discontentment and frustration that the responsible department and state government have failed to address the needs of the student community. Further, the union conveyed “profound unsatisfactory” with the department and government for failing to pay attention to the genuine voice of the students.

Acknowledging that certain issues required certain period of time, it, however, retrofired not to remain as “mute observers” when welfare of students were deliberately disregarded. ANCSU expressed hope that the responsible authority would to pay attention to the grievances of the student community and take timely action to avoid any confrontation.
