The annual sports week of Oking Christian School Kohima kick off on March 18. Gracing the inaugural ceremony at Jubilee Hall CBCK, deputy mission director Samagra Shiksha, Kelhikha Kenye, encouraged the students to embrace healthy physical exercise habits in their daily life to ensure physical fitness and sound mental health.
He also cited the World Health Organization (WHO) report where about 1 out of 5 children suffer mental health issues and urged the students to embrace healthy exercise in the daily activities.
Stressing on National Education Policy 2020, Kenye said that art, music, and sport integration have been envisaged in achieving holistic competency-based quality education.
Kenye further urged upon the students to always stay positive and embrace healthy habits.
Earlier, the inaugural ceremony was led by Hanjile Jemu while welcome address was delivered by Ketoulhoutuo. Y. Ponie administered oath to the participating teams.
