A one-day training session on the NextGen e-Hospital system was held on May 7 at NIELIT, Kohima. The event was organized by the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (HFW), Nagaland, in partnership with the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
In a press release, IEC Bureau, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare informed that the training aimed to improve digital capabilities in district hospitals and was attended by Medical Superintendents, Nodal Officers, and other health officials.
During the inauguration, Commissioner and Secretary of HFW Nagaland, Anoop Kinchii, spoke about how digital technology can enhance healthcare access, improve diagnosis and treatment, and promote preventive health awareness.
Additional Director (IT), Dr. Vezukholu Theyo, welcomed participants and highlighted how the NextGen hospital application can improve hospital management, electronic health records, and integration with national health programs. She emphasized the importance of user feedback in making the system more effective.
The technical sessions commenced with Ravindra Kumar, Head of Department at NextGen e-Hospital, NIC, delivering an overview of the platform’s key features and its implementation plan for district hospitals.
The NIC team from Delhi led two detailed sessions on Master Data Configuration, where participants learned how to customize the hospital’s digital framework, including departments, services, user roles, and security settings.
Participants also took part in a hands-on training session conducted by NIC Nagaland, where they practiced navigating the system, entering patient data, and performing other hospital tasks digitally.
The event ended with an interactive discussion and doubt-clearing session, handled by NIC teams from Delhi and Nagaland. Representatives from NIC Nagaland and the IT Section of DHFW Nagaland provided guidance on the next steps and future support for system implementation.
