The Branch Post Office in Pungro was officially upgraded to a Sub-Post Office on May 7, now operating under PIN Code 798617.
The upgraded facility was inaugurated by advisor of Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guards, Civil Defence, and Relief and Rehabilitation, S. Kiusumew Yimchunger.
According to DIPR report, Kiusumew in his keynote address, thanked the Postal Department for responding to the long-pending demand for improved postal services in the region. He encouraged postal staff to serve efficiently and urged the public to utilize the department’s services.
Kiusumew also unveiled a commemorative monolith, followed by a dedicatory prayer by pastor Tsuyihba of PTBC. The event, organized by the Department of Posts, Nagaland Postal Division, was attended by Dr. Alice K. Vizo, director of Postal Services, Nagaland, along with dignitaries, including the ADC and EAC of Pungro, officials from various departments, and representatives of civil society organizations.
