Sacred Heart Church, Khuzama, and Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar (LBCD) joined in celebrating Mother’s Day, honoring the role of mothers in faith and family on Sunday.

At Sacred Heart Church, Khuzama, Rev. Fr. C. Joseph, Counsellor at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama, led the Sunday Liturgy, where the congregation prayed for mothers. In his homily, he reflected on the divine essence of motherhood, quoting Henry Ward Beecher: “When God thought of mother, He must have laughed with satisfaction.”

Following the service, a Mother’s Day program featured special performances, speeches, and the exchange of gifts, acknowledging the significance of motherhood in human life and faith.

Meanwhile, at Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar (LBCD), the celebration included a special devotional service recognizing the contributions of mothers. Rev. Limhathung Lotha, pastor of LBCD, encouraged the congregation to honor mothers beyond just Mother’s Day, emphasizing the importance of faith and strengthening relationships with God.

LBCD Choir presented a special musical tribute, while Rev. Yimstu offered a blessing prayer for mothers. Achanpeni Ngully shared reflections on the life of a mother, and scripture readings were led by Longtsubemo Kithan. The program was coordinated by Youth Director, Chenibemo.
