Mopong Hongkong Students’ Union (MHSU) carried out a comprehensive school inspection from May 6 to 8, 2025, to assess the state of education in both private and government schools across the region.

According to MSHU media secretary Jaitok Konyak, the inspection revealed serious issues such as teacher shortages, outdated infrastructure, and a lack of essential learning materials, all of which are affecting students and educators.

During the visit, MHSU also addressed concerns at Tobu Newman School, where the administration acknowledged the challenges and expressed commitment to reforms—setting a positive example for collaboration between student bodies and schools.

To boost teaching standards, MHSU has launched a new Teacher Recognition Program, which will reward outstanding educators for their contributions. The initiative aims to improve teacher morale and encourage excellence in education.

The findings highlight the urgent need for government bodies, school administrations, and the community to work together on solutions, including increased funding, teacher recruitment, and infrastructure improvements. For further details, stakeholders have been encouraged to engage with MHSU and local education authorities.
