Unidentified infant’s body found in Dimapur

Dimapur Police recovered the body of an unidentified infant near Burma Camp on May 9. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), PRO Dimapur, on receiving report, police personnel rushed to the location and recovered a highly decomposed body of a baby girl wrapped in a red woollen cloth, with part of her head visible near a fishery pond in Bangjak Phom Colony.


An inquest was conducted in the presence of witnesses, and after completing legal procedures, the body was sent to District Hospital Dimapur Morgue for post-mortem and identification.


The infant was wearing an off-white vest, with a black thread tied around her waist.
