BEPETO AND ENYIEBE SECURE WILD CARD ENTRIES
The Nagaland Next Top Player Season 2, a prestigious football talent hunt organized by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland, has concluded with promising young footballers securing a pathway to professional football in Thailand.
The initiative, held in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association, Progressive Sports Consultants, SC Nagaland, and Thonburi United Thailand, aims to provide talented players from Nagaland with an opportunity to compete in international football leagues.
The selection camp officially kicked off on May 12 at Chümoukedima Football Stadium, Police Complex, where aspiring footballers put their skills to the test. After rigorous trials, Laiwang Bohham and Kevisanyu Peseyie emerged as the top two players chosen for a one-month training and trial program with Thonburi United, Thailand.
Additionally, Bepeto Assumi and Enyiebe Thopi were granted wild card entries, securing spots in the prestigious football program.
The selected players will first undergo a month-and-a-half-long intensive training with Progressive Sports Consultants at Chümoukedima, refining their skills under expert guidance. Following this, they will move on to a one-month professional training and tryout with Thonburi United in Thailand in July 2025. Their performance will determine their final selection for the 2025–2026 season, potentially securing professional contracts with the club.
This season follows the incredible success of Meceivi Khieya, the Season 1 winner, who secured an eight-month professional contract with Thonburi United in Bangkok. His inspiring journey has set a precedent, proving that Nagaland is home to world-class football talent.
