On the eve of the “75th Naga Plebiscite Day,” The Naga Rising (TNR) has stressed the need for Nagas to reason and unite under one flag.
In a statement, TNR affirmed support of unity and reconciliation amongst the Naga people. It said that the initiative of the Naga Plebiscite Commission to ‘collectively mark’ the historic 75th Naga Plebiscite Day was a call for oneness that should resonate across the Naga homeland.
TNR said it was “a wonderful opportunity” for Nagas to reason and unite under one flag and to acknowledge the sovereignty of God over their land and people.
“Though our differences exist, in what has been a long, difficult and painful journey, we must realize we are all in this for the same cause,” TNR said and maintained that Naga national movement can no longer remain divided.
It called upon the Nagas to uphold the oneness of their sacred cause. It prayed the 75th Naga plebiscite year would be a time of reckoning—to fulfil God’s promises for the Nagas and that Nagas as a people could reclaim the vision and find a unified voice to lead them to their rightful place.
