Earlier, special guest, Roko Angami, OSD for Sports under Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) department and treasurer of the Nagaland Football Association, encouraged participants to take sports seriously and pursue it with dedica-tion.
He reminded the young athletes that sports was no longer a mere pastime or a means to secure backdoor appointments, but a platform that required discipline, commitment, and 100% effort.
He also acknowledged the concerns about infrastructure and informed the gathering that the state government was working towards improving sports facilities, including the establishment of the State Sports Academy and other related provisions.
He also highlighted the importance of respecting coaches, instructors, and seniors, cautioning that overconfidence and reluctance to seek advice often hindered growth.
