A 15-member team from the Nagaland Pencak Silat Association has left for Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu to compete in the 1st Khelo India Beach Games 2025.
The tournament, organized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, will be held from May 19 to 24, 2025 at Ghoghla Beach, Diu. Led by Association president Khevishe Sema and head coach Deep Kumar, the team will be making history as Nagaland debuts in this prestigious national event.
The athletes representing Nagaland include Kevin, Kitenlo K. Thono, Jon, Akivito Zhimo, Altab Uddin Choudhury, Liike Kibami, Dausanliu Rentta, Avikali V. Sheqi, Hatneinem Khongsai, Hinokali, Nyia Thono, Edwina Lhinghoithem Hanghal, and Alice D. Chishi.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Pencak Silat Association expressed gratitude to the Sports Authority of India and Kethosituo Sekhose, director of the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, for their continued support in preparing the team for this national-level competition.
