Nagaland recorded its highest-ever monthly GST collection in April 2025, while India’s GST collection reached an all-time high of Rs.2.37 lakh crores, reflecting a 12.6% year-over-year growth—the highest since GST was launched in 2017.
The Commissioner of Central GST, Dimapur, shared this update during pre-GST Day celebrations on May 18. Since GST was introduced, Nagaland’s taxpayer base has expanded significantly, now comprising approximately 12,000 taxpayers under the jurisdiction of Central and State GST authorities.
In a major step to curb tax evasion, the Anti-Evasion Unit of CGST Dimapur successfully recovered Rs. 35 crores in GST from M/s Naagaamii Infratech Pvt Ltd in April 2025. This included Rs. 31.5 Crores in cash payments and Rs. 3.5 Crores through ITC payments.
The recovery followed an investigation into non-payment of GST by the company during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 financial years. CGST Dimapur ensured compliance, leading to a total GST payment of Rs. 40 Crores by the taxpayer so far.
As part of pre-GST Day celebrations, the Central GST Dimapur Commissionerate organized a Cycle Rally on May 18, 2025, in partnership with the Fit India Movement’s “Cycles on Sunday.”
The event aimed to promote physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle, while also commemorating eight years of GST since its introduction on July 1, 2017.
Around 90 enthusiastic cyclists gathered at the CGST Office Dimapur, near City Tower, where the rally was flagged off. The ride concluded at Hotel Layover, 3rd Mile NH29, where participants were awarded certificates.
