DIMAPUR: The Vikshit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA), a major agricultural outreach campaign, will be held from May 29 to June 12, 2025 across 11 districts of Nagaland. The initiative, led by the National Research Centre on Mithun (NRC Mithun), ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region (Nagaland Centre), and College of Veterinary Sciences (CVSc) Jalukie, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), aims to enhance agricultural practices and build climate resilience in rural communities.
The campaign will cover Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Mon, Peren, Phek, Tuensang, Wokha, Zunheboto, Longleng, and Kiphire, with a focus on critical themes such as soil health awareness and nutrient management, Climate-resilient agricultural practices, integrated farming systems (crop-livestock-fishery), organic waste management through vermicomposting, precision agriculture with agri-drones.
Farmers will benefit from soil health card distribution, on-site training, low-cost technology demos, and exposure visits. Each team will engage with at least 150 farmers per village, ensuring extensive outreach.
Vikshit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan will also promote government schemes and provide expert guidance, aiming to boost productivity, increase sustainability, and empower farmers in Nagaland’s remote regions.
