Parliamentary Secretary for Rural Development & REPA, Pangnyu Phom, opined that teachers make the highest contribution in shaping the future of the society.
Addressing 14th Freshers’ Social of the School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development, Medziphema to welcome the newly admitted students of both B.Sc. (Agriculture ) and M. Sc. (Agriculture) on September 20 as chief guest, Pangyu said that “Excellence comes when the performer takes pride in doing his job.”.
He also told the students that intellectual education influences the head but value based education influences the heart. “True education is training of both the head and the heart and the most important thing that one must know in education to learn to learn” he stated, according to a release issued by Kevizhalhou Kuotsu, president SU SASRD
The guest of honour, Rural Development Director Metusbo Jamir exhorted the students to go for value based education and development of personality rather than just merely securing a degree.
Earlier welcome address was given by Prof. Imnayongdang Dean NU, SASRD and the programe was chaired by Kevizhalhou Kuotsu, president SUSASRD. Vote of thanks was delivered by Chenithung Kithan, general secretary SUSASRD.
