Unhappy over the state cabinet’s decision to reserve ten (10) post of EAC for ten Naga tribes through NPSC, the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has demanded the State cabinet to revoke the “unethical decision without any further delay.” In a joint statement, AKM president, N.
Akok Longkumer and asstt. general secretary Walu Jamir questioned the state government whether they took into consideration the “larger junk of the educated unemployed youth” before making the “inefficient decision”. AKM asserted that the cabinet’s decision was totally against the wishes and aspirations of the remaining deprived Naga tribe.
The statement asked the “state cabinet have to take note that special recruitment drive policy itself is illegal, since it’s not under the preview of the reservation policy.” AKM cautioned the state government stating that “if the State Cabinet is trying to drive their special recruitment policy vehicle (car) on right side of the road for time being, then their will be total chaos since it is illegal to drive on the right side.”
