All Nagaland Unemployed Diploma Electrical Engineer Association (ANUDEEA) has expressed resentment on the power department for failing to provide equal employment opportunity to the diploma electrical engineers.

In a representation to the chief engineer, department of power, ANUDEEA stated that the department has not held an open competitive examination for the past 4-5 years during such time some of its members have become overage.

It added that there was no question of unavailability of post as a number of posts were still lying vacant and many filled through back door appointments.

The association also expressed resentment over the demand of senior field staff, who it said, despite enjoying 100% promotion quota of shift engineer and meter inspector, have demanded for 10% promotion quota of J.E (Electrical) post though all these posts are Class-II gazetted category.

The association has placed four-point charter of demands for intervention within 30 days failing which it said it might have to take severe steps as future course of action.

It has demanded that the department issue clarification on 12 posts of J.E (Electrical) which is being kept in abeyance by the High Court order dated November 30, 2011 on the writ petition filed by the senior field staff.

ANUDEEA also demanded that all contract appointments of J.E posts which are lying vacant should be advertised and examination be conducted through NPSC and also to conduct departmental examination for the post of S.O-II.

Further, the association has asked the department to clarify on why the unqualified candidates have been appointed in various posts.
