State government has examined Ao Senden’s 5-point demands even as the apex Ao organization was yet to call off the blockade.
In a letter faxed to Ao Senden president Friday night by state home commissioner, the government said the matter raised by Ao Senden has been discussed at the highest level.
The state government said due to lack of funds the road project connecting Tizit in Mon district to Khelma in Peren district was yet to take-off.
The government also said one platoon of 10 IRB was being sent to Saringyim as immediate measure and subsequent opening of a permanent post would be taken up as per procedure. The letter also informed EAC Lanusenla Longkumer has been posted to Longchem.
According to the letter, the Assam government has agreed to pay the medical bills of the victims as well as the expenses required for repairing the damaged vehicles on May 24 Mariani incident.
Meanwhile, health & family welfare minister Imkong L Imchen told Nagaland Post that Mokokchung legislators lauded the stand taken by Ao Senden and said the state government was working out solutions.
Ao Senden president Dr. Sangyu Yaden also informed the decision to call off the blockade could not be taken immediately as it could be arrived at only after a meeting of the federal assembly scheduled for Monday (June 3). The president said till then the blockade would continue.
