“The Fallen Wings”, a novel of passion, love and suspense, authored by Nzanthung K Yanthan was officially released in a simple yet glowing function by MLA and MARCOFED chairman Mmhonlumo Kikon at his residential office Bayavu Kohima Saturday.
The author, who is also serving as women development officer (WDO) in women development directorate Nzan, in his brief address, said the novel was a simple attempt to throw light of some of the angles of life associated with passion, love and suspense.
In his address, MLA Mmhonlumo congratulated the author for publishing the first novel, saying ‘coming’ from an oral tradition the new generation of literature lovers from among the Nagas, written in English language, has been an opportunity in reading to abound in the Naga society through the novel.
Kikon said the novel has a familiar Naga narrative yet maintained originality in its storyline much different from the familiar old tales.
Originality and the creativity of the author have been well complimented by the mastery over the English language making the novel interesting, he said. The MLA pointed out that the novel was an addition to the corpus of flourishing Naga literature.
Earlier, Sungro Town Pastor Rev. Z.K Yanthan, who is also the father of the author, dedicated the novel before the release.
The novel would be available in all the leading bookstalls in Kohima and Dimapur while the Kyong Naga Cultural Society (KNCS) would promote the novel.
