PSC suspends proposed demonstration

Phom Students’ Conference (PSC) Saturday said it has resolved to “temporarily suspend” its proposed November 4 agitation against stalling of Longleng-Ladigarh NEC road project.

In a press release, PSC president M.Chaupong Leinak and assembly speaker Hongkam.D. Ngonyen stated that decision to suspend agitation was taken November 2 after an emergency presidential executive meeting at PSC office, Longleng.

They also said agitation was suspended following assurance given by PWD (R&B) to resume the work at the earliest by the responsible contractors. PSC said it was also informed that a revised estimate has been done by the expenditure finance committee, ministry of DONER October 3 last.

Therefore, PSC said its agitation has been temporarily suspended w.e.f. November 3-15. PSC, however, asked the responsible contractors to start the work within the stipulated time, failing which it would start agitation. Further, PSC has asked all the respective federating units to be prepared. It also urged all sections of the society to cooperate.
