PRA exercise on water, sanitation

Participatory rural appraisal (PRA) exercise on water and sanitation was conducted in 12 villages from March 3 to 14 under the aegis of water and sanitation support organization (WSSO), public health engineering department (PHED).
The participating villages included Mukalimi, Chishilimi, Sema Settsu, Zaphumi, Alaphumi, Lumai, Lumithsami, Shichimi, Lotisa Old,  Lotisa New, Mapulumi and Baihmo under  Zunheboto district. 
According to a press release, during the exercise, junior engineer, public health engineering department (PHED), Hotolu Aye, and IEC consultant, Kiyeshe Chishi, Zunheboto division, highlighted about the communitization, negative impacts of unhygienic village conditions and its measures, importance of cleanliness and steps to be taken to keep the village and its surroundings clean.
A chemist from Zunheboto, Benathung Tsopoe, presented about the prevailing water quality, ill effects of water borne diseases and its preventative measures.
