The 19th general session of Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) was held at Bade village council hall here Tuesday with parliamentary secretary for horticulture Neiba Kronu gracing the session as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Kronu said since Nagas, as tribal, were considered as most unprivileged people in the society, the Naga people should change their mindset and work hard to compete with the rest of the world. He also said one should look back and compare the past Naga history with the present situation and noted that the society has undergone drastic changes.
At the session, declaration of new office bearers WCH, WCMA, WCYO and WCWA was made.
WCH for the tenure 2014-18 would be led by Veklosayi as president and Kesalie as general secretary; Western Chakhesang Mother’s Association (WCMA) for tenure 2014-17 to be led by Bino Kenye as president and Akhrole Venuh as general secretary; Western Chakhesang Youth Organization (WCYO) for tenure 2014-17 to be led by Shelepa Rhakho as president and Lhikhro Kreo as general secretary and for Western Chakhesang Wrestling Association (WCWA) Dimapur district for the tenure 2014-16, the team would be led by Mudopoyi Rhakho as president and Mosa Koza as general secretary.
The general session was chaired by Küshelü Vadeo, invocation was said by Dr Nüvocho, pastor CBC East Dimapur, welcome song by Chakhesang veteran folk singers, presidential address was delivered by Vekhosayi Nyekha, president WCH, short speech was made by Dr Rev P Dozo, president united college of theology & mission Dimapur, Vote of thanks was proposed by N Medo, vice president WCH and benediction by Rev Bulechü Koza, Sr pastor CRC Sodülhou village.
Meanwhile, after the meeting, the chief guest also inaugurated Farmer’s Producer Organization (FPO) Dimapur collection centre cum storage unit at Bade village sponsored by horticulture department under VIUC 2011-12.
