Midland Panchayat Kohima (MPK) has condemned the crime committed by Thepfurieu Metha September 4. In a press release issued by Panchayat chairman Kedozolie and general secretary Ketsodi stated the dastardly and heinous crime committed against his own wife was not only condemnable but also put the entire men folk to shame which was not compensable. The Panchayat has appealed to all the responsible authority to award a befitting punishment to the perpetrator according to the magnanimity of crime committed so that this kind of unwarranted incidence do not occurs in their society in future.
