Legal aid clinic inagurated at Sazolie College

Kohima District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) in collaboration with Sazolie College, Jotsoma on April 13 organized a programme of inauguration of legal aid clinic- cum- legal awareness at Sazolie College.
The legal aid clinic was inaugurated by deputy commissioner, Kohima, Rovilato Mor, who is also ex- officio member of KDLSA.
Speaking on the occasion, Mor congratulated the college authority and the KDLSA for organizing the legal awareness programme and setting up of the legal aid clinic in the college. 
He highlighted that laws and rules are framed to ensure equality so as to safeguard the larger interest of the individuals and the society. 
“Unless we channelized our potentialities, talents and objectives through proper channel of the existing laws, it will be difficult to reach the goals and destination,” he said.
Asserting that knowledge is power, he said each member of the society should be aware of the legislated laws and provisions in order to move forward. 
“Ignorance and indifference towards the legislated laws passed by the government will create chaos and confusion and pull our society backward,” he added.
He also urged upon the students to take full advantage of the facilities provided by the legal aid clinic in order to equip themselves with legal knowledge and also assist them in solving their legal problems. 
Delivering welcome address principal of Sazolie College, , Kangzangding Thou  thanked KDLSA for setting up the legal aid clinic in the college and said setting up of legal aid clinic would help students who are planning a career in law after graduation. 
Panel Lawyer, KDLSA Akumla Longchari spoke on “the legal services authority” and highlighted on the activities and functioning of legal aid clinics. 
Chief Judicial Magistrate & Secretary KDLSA Mezivolu T Therieh, and president of Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organization & Ex- Officio Member, KDLSA Kezhokhoto Savi spoke on “Social media & its legal challenges” and “The importance of legal rights and duties” respectively. Theyievinuo Whiso also spoke on behalf of the students’ body.
