
Three-day training programme was conducted by KVK Dimapur from July 8-10 at fruit processing unit, ICAR complex Jharnapani, Medziphema with SMS (Home Sc) V. Kenny Rhetso and SRF (DBT) Vinika K. Aomi as resource persons.
During the programme, the coordinator informed the trainees to utilize the processing facility by paying nominal water and electricity fee to the office of joint director.
The training imparted information about value addition with practical demonstration on pineapple squash, Assam lemon and Assam lemon carbonated drinks. Vice chancellor, AAU Jorhat, Dr. K. M. Bujarbaruah visited the unit on July 9 and interacted with the staff and trainees, encouraging them to take advantage of the knowledge and practice of the processing unit.
Other visitors included the adviser, DBT government of India, Dr. T. Madhan Mohan, director, Institute of Life Science, Bhubaneshwar Dr. B. Ravindran and Director, NCR Mithun, Jharnapani, Medziphema, Dr. Abhijit Mitra.
Altogether 22 beneficiaries from three villages-Molvom, Jharnapani, and Kukidolong attended the training programme.
