Narrating the incident, NVCO press and media cell said, a resident of Lower Chandmari, Kohima bought a fish and while having dinner, family members found more than 30 pieces of fishing hooks in fishes already being cooked. Immediately after the recovery, the victim family approached Lower Chandmari Panchayat, Kohima with fishing hooks and cooked fish. However, some cooked fishes were already eaten by the family. One of the family members suspected to be consumed a fishing hook suffered severe stomach pain, NVCO said. Lower Chandmari Panchayat said it had taken the matter seriously and demanded the authorities to take strong action to avert such “hazardous goods” to be sold in the market.
