In a tragic accident, a woman succumbed to her injuries and died while on the way to Jorhat, in Assam after being referred out from the district hospital here today.
The deceased has been identified as Sentiyangla, D/o Likoktemsu of Longphayimsen village. The incident happened this morning at around 10 a.m when the taxi (Maruti Van) in which she was travelling skidded off the road and tumbled down about 200 feet, at Tongdentsuyong ward Mokokchung.
Immediately after the accident, neighbours and passerby rushed to the site and took the injured to the hospital but doctors at the hospital referred her out due to the grievous nature of her injuries. It was reported that the deceased took the taxi from Alisungkum, Tsusapang and was coming to Mokokchung town when the accident occurred. Also, the driver of the taxi identified as Mongtuba Chang sustained some injuries.
