
Two medium-intensity earthquakes shook parts of Assam and Nagaland on Wednesday afternoon and evening respectively.
On Wednesday afternoon around 1:10 pm, an earthquake measuring 4.7 at the Richter scale struck Assam ,with its epicentre at Diphu.
Later in the evening at around 6:40 p.m. another quake of 4.7 intensity on the Richter scale struck Nagaland. The epicentre of the quake was 52 km from Dimapur. The tremor was felt in several parts of Nagaland including Kohima and neighbouring areas in Assam.
There was no report of any damage to life and property due to the earthquakes.
