Pangnyu inspects Nagaland medical college work site

 State health and family welfare (H&FW) minister, S Pangnyu Phom, Wednesday visited the ongoing construction of Nagaland Medical College Kohima and took stock of the grievances faced by the contractors.

The minister expressed satisfaction over the work progress and exuded confidence that the academic session would start by 2022 as assured to the union health minister.

During his visit, the minister inspected the college building, the hostel building, MS residence building, the dean residence building, sports complex, 100 apartment and road side CRMS, culverts and drainage. He lauded the contractors for the work progress even during the current pandemic situation.

Further, Phom urged the project engineers and contractors to speed up the work and ensure completion on time. It was informed that 70% of the college infrastructure was expected to be completed by the end of 2021 if construction works was carried out without any hindrance.

Later, taking to twitter, Phom said “I am satisfied with the progress of the work and appreciate the sincere efforts put in by the contractors.” The minister said he assured for all possible help by the department. Health minister also reminded the contractors to maintain proper workmanship and SOP.

The minister was accompanied by principal director health and family welfare, executive engineers, senior officers from the department and project engineers.
