A workshop on mushroom cultivation for sustainable livelihoods was organised by the ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) Don Bosco Dimapur on February 24 at AIDA. A press release by AIDA informed that through a blend of theoretical insights and hands-on practice, the session aimed to equip individuals with the expertise necessary for sustainable mushroom cultivation.
Under the expert guidance of project manager, Lanthou Mark Gonmei, and livestock associate at AIDA, Jerome Mungkung, participants delved into the intricacies of mushroom cultivation, gaining invaluable knowledge and practical skills.
The training underscored not only the potential of mushroom cultivation as an alternative livelihood but also emphasized the significance of sustainable agricultural practices.
Expressing enthusiasm for the opportunity to empower community members, AIDA executive director, Rev. Fr. Roy George, highlighted the workshop’s role in providing participants with the tools to pursue mushroom cultivation as a sustainable income source. AIDA said the workshop fostered a sense of camaraderie and collaboration among participants, creating a platform for mutual learning and growth.
