National Health Mission Nagaland has launched a special drive for Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) in the state on February 21, 2025. During the drive (from February 20 to March 31, 2025), screening of 30 plus age group for two common NCDs- Diabetes and Hypertension and ensure 100% coverage of the eligible population of 30 plus, will be carried out in all the health units.
The objective of the launching of Special NCD Drive was to ensure that the screening for NCD reaches every corner of Nagaland. At the launching of the drive, NHM Nagaland acknowledged the promotion and awareness of the NCD specially in rural and remote areas of the state where access to healthcare was limited.
In this regard, NHM Nagaland called for collaboration with local leaders, civil societies and community groups for wide spread participation of the community by providing the citizens with knowledge, empowerment and resources for a healthy life and ultimately save lives from the silent epidemic affecting the community.
