The three-day, 5th edition of the Departmental Sports Week at Bhandari sub-division concluded on March 12, 2025. According to DIPR report, the closing ceremony was graced by ADC Bhandari, Longasen Lotha.
In the final football match, 7th NAP team defeated the defending champions, district administration to win the title. In Badminton singles, the district administration defeated Education department while in doubles, the 7th NAP defeated the district administration in the final.
In Carrom singles, GHSS defeated the Forest department while in doubles 7th NAP defeated GHSS. District administration and DEF, Wokha, won over the Social Welfare team in women’s penalty shootout.
ADC Bhandari, Longasen Lotha, who gave away the football Champion’s trophy, in his speech, lauded the Head of Departments and the government employees for their pro-active role in making the sports week success.
He encouraged the participants to appreciate that winning alone was not the central objective in sports, but to keep themselves healthy and active physically and mentally. Altogether, 24 four departments under the Bhandari sub-division, divided into eight teams participated in the various sporting events.
