On this joyful occasion of the Moatsü Festival, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha president, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), S Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, S. Phangnon Konyak and NPF extended warmest wishes to the Ao community.
In his greetings, Jamir said Moats~ is a time to give thanks for a good harvest and to celebrate the strength of community, friendship and culture.
As we celebrate this beautiful tradition, may it bring happiness to every home, strengthen the bonds between people, and inspire peace and unity among all, Jamir called upon the people to continue to honor and preserve their rich heritage while moving forward together with hope and harmony.
In her greetings, Konyak said this vibrant celebration is a reminder of the deep importance of preserving their culture, customs, and traditions, even as they come together in merriment.
And as they await the fruits of their hard work, Konyak wished Almighty bless them all with peace and prosperity. Meanwhile, Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central HQ stated that Moatsü, observed with reverence and cultural pride by the Ao community, is a time-honored festival that marks the completion of agricultural activities and beginning of a period of celebration, rest, and fellowship.
“It is a moment of thanksgiving, feasting, and the strengthening of communal bonds, steeped in the rich traditions and heritage of the Ao people”, it stated.
NPF expressed appreciation for the invaluable role of Ao community in the socio-cultural and political life of the Naga people, adding that the community’s steadfast commitment to progress, unity, and preservation of indigenous values continues to inspire the larger Naga society.
Naga People’s Front further called upon all to reflect on ideals of harmony, gratitude, and mutual respect that Moatsü represents and prayed that the festive occasion fosters greater understanding and solidarity among all communities, and may it serve as a beacon of hope and renewal in their collective journey forward.
