In addressing the ongoing water scarcity in the capital, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Councilor Kazheli Tungoe inaugurated a newly constructed community ring well for the residents of Daklane Ward-7 on May 18.

The first-of-its-kind project in the ward under the KMC, the ring well was initiated by Councilor Tungoe through the 15th Finance Commission (FC) Tied Fund. The inauguration ceremony, held at Sector-2 of the colony, was attended by colony leaders, ward members, and GBs.

Strategically constructed over a perennial spring, the ring well is equipped with a water reservoir atop, allowing for better storage and distribution of water to the community.

In her address, Kazheli expressed hope that the project would provide much-needed relief to the residents of Daklane Ward, who have been grappling with an acute water crisis. She emphasized the importance of such community-driven initiatives in addressing essential needs.
